About Eastgate

Eastgate was born in the hearts of Brian and Kristen in 2003, beginning as a local church. In 2012, we sensed a shift — not just in how we gathered, but in the very roots of what we believed “church” could be. This transition led us to a deeper, more expansive understanding of God’s heart for humanity.

Today, we hold to this simple yet profound truth: every person is significant and carries the presence of God within them. As 1 Corinthians 3:11 reminds us, “Christ is all, and is in all.” This reality shapes how we live and how we engage with every person we encounter.

Guided by this truth, we strive to embody the words of 1 Corinthians 3:12: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.” Our desire is to reflect these qualities in every interaction—encouraging love, respect, and grace to flow freely.

Though we are continually discovering new ways to impact and serve humanity, our core remains constant: living from His love, aligned with His heart.

The Team

Brian & Kristen, Leaders

Brian and Kristen have an immense appetite for FUN! Whether it’s collaborating with like-hearted people, launching new and exciting entrepreneurial ventures, or hopping in their vehicle to hit the open road, they love to explore, create, and do things that have never been done before.

For more than 20 years, they have been pioneering East Gate with passion and vision. Their deepest focus is to encourage the inward journey — doing the heart work, embracing transformation from the inside out, and cultivating an inner peace that remains steady no matter what happens in the world around us.

They believe that when the inner work is done, we can impact peace on earth in a far greater way — one heart at a time.

Chris & Jane Wiens,

Chris and Jane bring a wealth of experience as lead pastors, mission leaders, and social enterprise pioneers. Passionate and purpose-driven, they live an organic, intentional lifestyle where building rigid structures isn’t part of their DNA.

Instead, Chris and Jane focus on developing community naturally — allowing relationships to grow authentically and overflow into meaningful connection.

With their entrepreneurial flair, they also created the YouTube channel @BigCatRanch, where they share life on their 160-acre off-grid property. Their channel highlights the beauty of living close to nature, showcases the diverse wildlife that calls their land home, and pays special attention to the majestic big cats that roam nearby.

Cory Dueck,

Cory is known for his big, contagious energy — the kind that lights up a room and leaves people smiling. His genuine love for humanity shines through in every interaction, whether he’s connecting one-on-one or inspiring a group.

Together with his fiancée, Nona, Cory pioneered Wild Rose Officiants, serving Alberta’s wedding community with creativity and heart.

A passionate adventurer, Cory loves spending time with family and friends and never says no to a spontaneous road trip or new experience. Having grown up overseas and traveled across many countries and continents, he carries a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and customs — something that continues to shape his outlook on life and relationships.

Beliefs & Values

God Is Absolutely Good

God is good — all the time. No matter the situation or circumstance, His heart is always for us, and He works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). We join the ancient song and declare: “He is good, and His love endures forever” (2 Chronicles 7:3).

God is not distant or disapproving — He celebrates us! “As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you” (Isaiah 62:5). We believe His goodness is the foundation of everything we do.

It Is Finished

When Jesus declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30), He revealed the heart of the Father: God loves all humanity and desires none to be marginalized or excluded. Jesus showed us what God is really like — a God of grace, compassion, and inclusion.

Nothing Is Impossible

Jesus said, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer” (Matthew 21:22). Even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains (Matthew 17:21).

Nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37) — and because His kingdom is within us (Luke 17:21) and His Spirit dwells in us (Romans 8:11), we expect to see the impossible become possible. Seeing obstacles bow to the name of Jesus is not just our hope — it is the lifestyle we pursue.

Jesus Has Won Absolute Victory

Through the cross and resurrection, Jesus won complete victory over sin, death, sickness, and poverty (Romans 8:2, Colossians 2:15, Isaiah 53). “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me,” Jesus said (Matthew 28:18–19). He has given us the keys of the Kingdom (Matthew 16:19) so that His prayer — “On earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10) — becomes our mission.

We live from a place of confidence: Jesus has won absolute victory.

Everyone Is Significant

There are no “little people” in the Kingdom of God. Every person is precious and carries divine worth. Scripture calls us a “chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession” (1 Peter 2:9).

God shows no favoritism (Romans 2:11) — His love, grace, joy, and peace are lavished on all. We celebrate diversity and honor the unique role each person plays in seeing heaven transform earth within their sphere of influence.
